Summary:
Interacts in a customer-focused and compassionate manner to ensure customers' needs are met with an emphasis on customer service satisfaction.
Receives and directs incoming telephone calls throughout Shore Regional Health, while continuously maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and ethics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
1.
Answers incoming telephone calls on telephone console; directs calls to requested or appropriate extensions.
2.
Monitors emergency, fire, panic, and/or trouble alarms and takes appropriate and immediate action in accordance to department policies and procedures.
Checks emergency alarms daily.
3.
Controls paging system and relays messages through the pager, phone and/or email systems.
4.
Serves as a base station for the two way radio paging for security.
5.
Maintains on-call lists that are displayed on Shore Regional Health's Intranet.
6.
Initiates and controls back-up telephone system during power failures.
7.
Connect/disconnects patient telephone service, as requested by patient or nursing.
8.
Maintains department logs.
9.
Performs the reception routine in the EDM module of Meditech for ED patients according to department processes.
10.
Strives to achieve excellence of service as described in the CARE Commitments.
11.
Responds to Shore Regional Health codes as appropriate.
12.
Responsible for honest behavior in all matters.
To the best of the employee's knowledge and understanding, complies with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
13.
Maintains the privacy and security of all confidential and protected health information.
Uses and discloses only that information which is necessary to perform the functions of the job.
14.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one year of receptionist, switchboard, or other communications related experience.
Demonstrated excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Computer knowledge necessary; Word, and Excel experience beneficial.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
